Being passionate about the email editor

Newsroom module can send your school news in an email, publish it online inside your news centre, or display it in a beautifully crafted newsletter issue.

Its powerful block editor creates emails which look great in every email client, all in intuitive drag and drop style. The news from around the school is combined into issues and presented in your school's colors, font, images and other styles.

Your school branding

PortalHQ uses your subdomain (e.g. https://news.yourschool.nsw.edu.au), your fonts, images and colours. This means that your school branding is maintained across every element in PortalHQ.

The frontend where the newsletters are published can be fully customised to whatever you want your newsletters to look like. However, talk to our team about the layouts and looks that work the best. We've been in this for over a decade and have a few insights and opinions.

Unlimited contact attributes

Newsroom allows you to use any number of contact attributes, such as student year, student classes, personal parent attributes and anything else you may want to use as merge tags in emails or in your list segmentation.
These attributes can be used when filtering your contacts, so if you want to target only parents of students in year 10, who attend Geography classes, you can do so.

Logs and dashboard

You can gauge success of your email newsletters through logs on the open rates, clicks and deliveries, as well as see which emails bounced and why.
It has everything you'd expect from a proper email marketing platform, including the high delivery rate though our clean, dedicated IP addresses.

Intuitive email editor

Newsroom module is equipped with an email editor, which allows you to define sections and to drag different elements into them. The elements can be text, images, buttons, dividers, icons etc.

You can then styles those elements to your desire by picking the colour, padding and other attributes depending on the element type.

You don't have to be a designer or a developer to use the editor and produce beautiful emails that look great across all email clients.

News centre

News centre is a type of a mini-site. There you can publish all your news articles, flag the featured news, display your articles inside a list and detail view, publish your Facebook and Twitter feeds, and customise everything to your heart's desire. You can have your news displayed as tiles, or have something fancier such as a list with load on scroll. Full HTML access with liquid templates is available to you.

Newsletter issues

This feature allows multiple staff members to add submissions to your weekly or a monthly newsletter. These submissions can be added to sections, such as Sport, Arts, From Principal and any other section you wish to define. The result is a good looking and functional newsletter, which can be easily navigated via the automatically generated menu, and which displays correctly on every device.
